Town of Greece Exposition Celebration Display
1960's Town of Greece Exposition display. In the 1950's and 1960's, the town would have an annual exposition celebration. This would often feature various community groups and government services organizations, highlighting the cultural and industrial accomplishments of the town.
Greece Welcome Wagon Club Bicentennial Quilt
The celebratory bicentennial quilt made by the Greece Welcome Wagon Club, 1976. It was on display at Long Ridge Mall during the bicentennial celebration. The club was instrumental in welcoming new residents to the community.
District #9 School on Long Pond Road
District No. 9 School was a two room schoolhouse located on Long Pond Road, just north of Maiden Lane. It taught students from first to eighth grade. It was converted into a residence in 1949.

Wagg’s Grocery & Provisions Store Counter
The inside counter of Wagg's Grocery & Provisions store. It was located on Lake and Pullman Avenues from the early 1900's until the 1960's. Pictured third from the left is Gilbert (Burt) Wagg. The store sold all manner of food product and household goods and at one time employed twenty eight people.

The inside of Wagg's Groceries & Provisions Store. It was located on the corners of Lake and Pullman Avenues. It operated from the early 1900's until 1964. The store sold food products and household goods and was founded by Gilbert Wagg; affectionately known as "Bert."
Future Greece Town Supervisor Gordon Howe and the Charlotte High School Basketball Team
Future Greece Town Supervisor Gordon Howe and the Charlotte High School basketball team, 1920's. Gordon is seen holding the ball and was a major contributor to Coach Carl Chamberlain's team. They were the champions of Monroe County in the 1923-1924 season, beating East High School for the title. Mr. Howe served as Greece Town Supervisor from 1934-1960.
The Elmheart Hotel Following Catastrophic Fire
Remains of the Elmheart Hotel following a catastrophic fire in September 1992. The fire likely started at 1 a.m. and was deemed suspicious by investigators. The hotel originally opened in 1890 and by 1992, had sat vacant for a number of years and developers owed nearly $25,000 in back taxes.
Maier’s Waffle and Sandwich Shop
Maier's Waffle and Sandwich Shop, 1920's. The Maier's sandwich shop was located at 4454 Dewey Avenue. Eventually, the Maier's Hotel was constructed and attached to the shop.
The Larkin’s Hotel at Jenkin’s Corner
The Larkin's Hotel was located at "Jenkin's Corners" in north Greece on Latta Road. It was owned by Joseph Larkin and it was regularly the site of the Greece political caucuses for the Democrat party. It was destroyed by a fire in 1913. The goods removed from the wreckage of the hotel were later stolen from the Dailey Warehouses in Rochester.

Hiscock’s Lumber Mill
Hiscock's Mill was located on Manitou Road at Braddock Bay. It was formerly known as the Clark & Atwell Mill until it was purchased by James O. Hiscock and his brother in law Oliver Bagley in the 1860's. Mr. Hiscock moved his existing blacksmith shop to the mill site. Mr. Hiscock was a well known leader in the community and his mill was famous for its "many enticing play spots."
The Manitou Beach Hotel
The Manitou Beach Hotel was one of many resorts along the shore of Lake Ontario. It operated from 1889 until the mid 1950's. It was purchased by the father of the Odenbach brothers for $20,000 and was the site of the annual Pioneer's Picnic, which often attracted as many as 20,000 visitors.
Keene’s Greenhouses on Ridge Road
Keene's Greenhouses was a nineteen acre farm located just east of Eddy Road (now Mt. Read Blvd). Keene's was one of many farms that operated along Ridge Road until the late 1930's, when agriculture gave way to industry and a rapidly increasing population in Greece.
