Topps Discount Department Store on Ridge Road
Topps discount department store was founded in 1957 by Fred Beckerman. The first store opened in Connecticut and Rochester stores began appearing in the early 1960's. The second Rochester Topps location opened in April 1967 and was located at 1250 Ridge Road West; the current Home Depot plaza. Topps closed in 1974 and the site served as United Skates of America roller rink in the mid 1970's and 1980's before becoming Home Depot.

It started off as a small waffle and sandwich shop. The structure was moved near the corners of Kirkwood Road and Moxon Drive.

View of Buck Pond from the veranda of the Crescent Beach Hotel, 1910's. The Crescent Beach Hotel, built in the 1890's, was one of a number of hotel resorts along the shore of Lake Ontario serviced by the Manitou Trolley. It was destroyed by fire in 1973.
Rebuilt Crescent Beach Hotel and Restaurant
The Crescent Beach Hotel was rebuilt by Joseph Barry ten years after a fire destroyed the original hotel in 1973. Located at 1372 Edgemere Drive, the new restaurant was designed by architect Peter Morse and designer Lorraine Geiss.
